CESE represents a diverse group of organizations and individuals dedicated to addressing national concerns in Earth system education that are not as effectively addressed in more discipline-specific forums. CESE was instrumental in getting Earth science incorporated into the National Science Education Standards, providing the opportunity—not yet sufficiently realized—for nationwide implementation of Earth science into school science curricula.
